HI THERE . . .

WELCOME to my Writing World.
I'm honored to have you here!

This is my "personal" page;
My own-self space;
My literary sanctuary.

Once upon a time, I visited this particular church and from the moment I entered it . . . I could feel God's Spirit permeating all in that place. The feeling was undeniably "God."

That same exhilarating experience I witnessed then, is what I desire for you now, during your visit here. I pray the spirit of God envelopes the heart and mind of everyone who arrives here.

Thanks for stopping by to visit . . .
You're always welcome here!

"By the grace of God, I am what I am . . ."  1 Corinthians 15:10

"If we could have any one gift for Christmas—anything in the world we wanted—what would that gift be? Now, let’s flip over and consider the opposite. If we could give any one gift for Christmas, what would that gift be?

In either case, what would be our main concern in giving or receiving Christmas gifts? Approximately how much expense would these gifts involve?"

"We live in a world where women crave men. We want a man. And there’s nothing wrong with that. A woman’s desire for a man is indeed natural.

From the beginning of time, God created woman and man with an instinctive desire for each other. He even created woman from the inward parts of man. It’s only natural that they are drawn to each other."

Very much aware that Chadwell resented her chastisement, Vallyn said, “Son, do you realize how pathetic it is for you to act all out of Christian character, but then get upset with me when I point out what you do?”
Chadwell made a low guttural noise that sounded something like “Hmmph.”
Now that it was his time to speak, Vallyn felt sure that he wouldn’t do so. Yet she paused and allowed him a chance anyway.

"We've made a habit of prancing here and there, asking others for advice, listening to well-meaning family and friends, watching TV talk shows, reading various books and commentaries, and even copying actions of so-called rich and famous individuals--all in the course of seeking a good life.

Although such insights may seem uplifting and inspiring, they are ineffective in the pursuit of living good lives. Much to our dismay, we ultimately discover that we've been swayed into living lives that don't yield the goodness we seek."

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH JOY

"Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning."
~ Psalm 30:5

HAS THERE BEEEN INSTANCES when darkness surrounded us? When stress so severely bound us until we could barely breathe?

Remember how we worried and worried and worried, wondering if we would ever make it through? How we almost gave up?

Stress survivors know there've been situations and circumstances where we thought "night" would never end. Our lives were deeply darkened by stress, and we swore we couldn't take no more.

But. . . God's grace came and caused us to de-stress; He brought peace that pulled us from the darkness of stress; He brought joy that blessed our lives with beauty.

Since spending many stressful nights, we have discovered that GOD CAN CHANGE ANYTHING literally overnight. God can bestow the biggest, brightest, and most beautiful Joy in the morning.

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH A GOOD MORNING

(Psalm 118:24)

What's so good about this morning?

It's another day that the Lord has given us . . .

Sure, we may still have stresses of some sort, but with the dawning of this new day, we're witnessing God's grace and mercy to bring about our de-stress.

However great or small our de-stress may be, it's all GOOD.

Stress survivors are learning more and more with each new day the Lord provides that it's our choice to rejoice, be glad, and make the best of our mornings.

Let's de-stress with a good morning and be grateful in spite of all things.

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH DELIGHT

"Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:4

DELIGHT? Is it kosher to combine de-stress and delight together? Sure it is!

Often in our need to de-stress, there's a nagging need to delight ourselves in something. Though our 'somethings' may not be the same, we generally see delight as a path to peace.

Remember David's 'something' with Bathsheba during "the time when kings go out to battle . . ." (2 Samuel, chapter 11) and how he chose to delight himself? That WAS NOT delight in the Lord.

When we choose to delight ourselves in the Lord and experience His precious peace, there are some specific things we should do.

Stress survivors believe that some of the greatest advice to delight in the Lord comes from one of David's familiar passages of Psalms. Let's de-stress with delight from Psalm 37. . .

Do not fret because of evil doers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
and wither as the green herb.
 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
 Delight yourself also in the Lord,
and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
 Commit your way to the Lord,
trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
 Do not fret--it only causes harm.
 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
but it shall be no more.
 But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall
 delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:1-11, NKJV)

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH GOD'S MERCY

"But the mercy of the Lord is
from everlasting to everlasting..."

~ Psalm 103:17

No doubt, stress survivors here, there, and everywhere, seem to be witnessing a stressful season. Seems like, if it's not too much of one thing, it's too little of another.

We cannot afford to stress out because of the way things "seem." We are stress survivors, and by "the mercy of the Lord," we shall continue to survive.

Come on, let's de-stress with God's mercy from Psalm 103:15-17.

As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
For the wind passes over it,
and it is gone.
And its place remembers it no more.
But the mercy of the Lord is
from everlasting to everlasting
on those who fear Him...

Peace I leave with you,

LET'S DE-STRESS AND PERSEVERE

"You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God,
 you will receive what He has promised."
~ Hebrews 10:36

PERSEVERE? Does this mean keep on keeping on, even in stress? Absolutely!

Often times we allow the ordeal of stress to steal our strength . . . to warp our reasoning . . . to cloud our God-given visions . . . and, ultimately, to diminish our confidence in God's Word.

Let's de-stress and persevere while waiting and watching for God's promises. Let's renew our stamina with a de-stress favorite from HEBREWS 10:32-36 (NIV).

32) Remember those earlier days
after you had received the light,
when you stood your ground in a great contest
in the face of suffering.

33) Sometimes you were publicly exposed
 to insult and persecution;
at other times you stood side by side
with those who were so treated.

34) You sympathized with those in prison
and joyfully accepted the confiscation of your property,
because you knew that you yourselves had better
and lasting possessions.

35) So do not throw away your confidence;
it will be richly rewarded.

36) You need to persevere so that when
you have done the will of God,
you will receive what he has promised.

LET'S DE-STRESS BY BEING STILL

"Be still, and know that I am God . . ."
- Psalm 46:10
WHEN was the last time we sat still and did absolutely nothing?

Being "still" truly has become a lost art. It's next to nonexistence. The average person is constantly caught up in a bustle of activity. We rush here; rush there; rush, rush, rush, everywhere.

Why wouldn't there be stress, stress, stress, everywhere? Be not deceived, the more speedy life becomes, the more stress it brings.

Many are beginning to realize that hopping here and there doesn't render our lives better; only busier. And, indeed, more stressful.

Though we all are exposed to a super-fast world, stress survivors purposely choose times to be still. We are convinced that being still in the presence of God, brings about the peace of God.

When we know God in a personal way--through a personal relationship--we're confident in seeking His Word for stress. No questions about it, we need God's supernatural strength to eliminate annoying stress and experience genuine de-stress.

If we aspire to do something grand this summer, let's de-stress by habitually choosing time to be still and to seek God's will.

Peace I leave with you . . .
