LET'S DE-STRESS DEVOTIONAL

neither have entered into the heart of man,

for them that love Him."

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH A GOOD MORNING

(Psalm 118:24)

What's so good about this morning?

It's another day that the Lord has given us . . .

Sure, we may still have stresses of some sort, but with the dawning of this new day, we're witnessing God's grace and mercy to bring about our de-stress.

However great or small our de-stress may be, it's all GOOD.

Stress survivors are learning more and more with each new day the Lord provides that it's our choice to rejoice, be glad, and make the best of our mornings.

Let's de-stress with a good morning and be grateful in spite of all things.

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH DELIGHT

"Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart."
Psalm 37:4

DELIGHT? Is it kosher to combine de-stress and delight together? Sure it is!

Often in our need to de-stress, there's a nagging need to delight ourselves in something. Though our 'somethings' may not be the same, we generally see delight as a path to peace.

Remember David's 'something' with Bathsheba during "the time when kings go out to battle . . ." (2 Samuel, chapter 11) and how he chose to delight himself? That WAS NOT delight in the Lord.

When we choose to delight ourselves in the Lord and experience His precious peace, there are some specific things we should do.

Stress survivors believe that some of the greatest advice to delight in the Lord comes from one of David's familiar passages of Psalms. Let's de-stress with delight from Psalm 37. . .

Do not fret because of evil doers,
Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity.
For they shall soon be cut down like the grass,
and wither as the green herb.
 Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
and He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.
He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
and your justice as the noonday.
 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret--it only causes harm.
For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord,
They shall inherit the earth.
 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more;
Indeed, you will look carefully for his place,
but it shall be no more.
But the meek shall inherit the earth, and shall
delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

(Psalm 37:1-11, NKJV)

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS DEVOTIONAL

and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing, with these
we shall be content."

LET'S DE-STRESS WITH PROMISES

"For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen,
to the glory of God through us."
~ 2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV

Isn't it amazing how stress overwhelms us when people make promises and fail to follow through?

We slip quite easily into pity parties and prolonged periods of stress, standing on those promises of families, friends, and colleagues.

Let's be honest, here, okay? Every promise is not created equal; and every person does not always honor his/her word.

Bounced from one stress to another. . .and another. . .and another,  stress survivors have discovered whose promises to depend on.

The words in 2 Corinthians 1:20 assure us that God's promises are "YES" and "AMEN."

Those steadfast, immovable, and always abounding promises of God are absolutely real. Always. God's promises are our supernatural doors to de-stress . . . our ultimate lifeline in times of mega stress.

We can depend on God. If He's promised "it"--whatever it is--we need not worry; we need not stress. God, The All-Powerful One, will manifest His glory of "YES" and "AMEN."

Peace I leave with you . . .

Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends
of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is
unsearchable.

He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might
He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint
and be weary,
And the young men
shall utterly fall,

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;

They shall mount up
with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31 (NKJV)

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS AND PROSPER

"...it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."
Isaiah 55:11.

If we'd ask a million people what's the main thing they recommend for a prosperous year, we'd most likely get a million different answers.

Generally, no two thoughts are alike. Sometimes similar, but not the same. And if one's thoughts indeed generate one's words, then, yes, it's bound to be a difference in what's said.

As much as stress survivors desire to see good in every one and to willingly extend benefits of doubt, our stress-filled experiences have convinced us that relying on the word of others often causes stress

But countless blessings of peace and provision and protection that we witness from God's Word, prove--unquestionably--that we can trust Him and prosper through His Word.

Let's de-stress and prosper from God's Word in Isaiah 55:8-11.

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,"
says the Lord.

"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways.
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

For as the rain comes down,
And the snow from heaven,
And do not return there, but water the earth,
And make it bring forth and bud,
That it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater,
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

Peace I leave with you  . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS THIS NEW YEAR

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
~ John 1:1

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Again, we stand at the threshold of a new beginning. . . New resolutions.  New stresses.

Stress survivors are among the first to admit that New Year's resolutions can create enormous stress.  Statistics reveal that 93% of all who make resolutions fail to achieve them.  Indeed, it's stressful when we fall short of our resolve.

Let's de-stress this New Year and fortify our resolutions with wisdom from the Book of John. . .

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him,
and without Him nothing was made that was made."      (John 1:1-3)
What is a New Year, if not a new beginning with God?

"All things" have their beginning with God, and "nothing" is ever successful without Him . . . not our prized possessions--monetary matters--lofty goals--loving relationships--good health--or any other essentials of a wonderful life.

Because stress survivors believe that God is the source of all things new--and prosperous--and excellent, we anticipate many meaningful moments this year. We're pleased to believe that God's Word is the beginning of our de-stress.

That's why we resolve to greet this 2013 New Year with a peaceful approach, believing that every beginning of every existence in every area of our lives, begins with GOD.

Peace I leave with you . . .
