LET'S DE-STRESS OUR TOMORROWS

". . . Do not fear or be dismayed;
Tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you."
 2 Chronicles 20:17,  NKJV

Remember the old adage "Tomorrow never comes?"

As stressful as this seems, people take these words to heart and live their lives based on the surmise that there's no such thing as tomorrow.

Even though there's a progression of time from one day to the next, the notion of no tomorrow concerns many. And when clinging to this mindset, what we do--or don't do--can make a world of difference in handling stress.

The idea of not being able to pick up where we leave off, or not having the option to pursue our plans can frazzle us beyond belief, and create endless hours of agitation.

Recorded in 2 Chronicles (Chapter 20) during a time of much uncertainty and stress, the Lord gave King Jehoshaphat and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem instructions on what to do--and He specifically stated "tomorrow."

Upon their obedience to God, "When Jehoshaphat and his people came . . . they found among them an abundance of valuables . . . more than they could carry away . . ."

As we align our affairs from day to day, do we address our tomorrows with doubts, fears, and needless stress? When we consider our desire to de-stress, is there something God has instructed us to do--tomorrow?

Let's de-stress our tomorrows by accepting, and obeying, God's Word.

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS IN THE LORD

Certainly, there're days we crave time alone in the Lord's presence.

Ask any stress survivor and be assured that moving from stress to de-stress is most effective when embracing the fullness of God.

Let's de-stress in the Lord--with Psalm 24:1-5.

The earth is the LORD'S, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.

For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.

Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD?
Or who may stand in His holy place?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.

He shall receive blessing from the LORD,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Peace I leave with you . . .

LET'S DE-STRESS DEVOTIONAL

"Thus says the Lord . . .'Call to me, and I will answer you,
and show you great and mighty things,
which you do not know.'"

LET'S DE-STRESS IN ALL THINGS

How many times have we uttered the words of Philippians 4:13?

Perhaps to some, this verse sounds real "Christian" or cute. However, stress survivors beg to differ; for in search of de-stress, we've seen some treacherous stresses, and Philippians 4:13 has been a life-line.

Surely we all can recall times when we faced impossible situations and became unbelievably stressed or depressed . . . Times when we had to desperately embrace and believe the words of this Scripture . . .

. . . because God's Word was all we had to cling to.

Most likely, there's been times when every stress survivor has been burdened with stress, and had to literally put professions of faith into action. During the process, we've learned that surviving stress and accomplishing de-stress isn't solely about what we can do.

So how did we acquire de-stress? Honestly speaking, "WE" didn't. Only through Christ did we witness any de-stress. There's no doubt, whatsoever, that  de-stress success is definitely "through Christ."

Stress survivors contend that "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" is not some sweet-sounding words we recite to appear religious. Our reasoning is that we've walked in the reality of these words, and we know every word is true.

In de-stressing, there are so many things that we, of ourselves, cannot do. But Christ strengthens us to do ALL THINGS . . .

For the future of that man is peace."

LET'S DE-STRESS AND PROSPER

The word "PROSPER" is, in de-stress terms, used too vaguely.

Although we understand prosper means to succeed . . . gain . . . become more and more successful, some seem to be confused in doing this. And here's where stresses flourish.

Taking the meaning of the word out of context and attempting to prosper "by whatever means necessary," is a sure path to agitation, frustration, and all sorts of stress.

Our aim to prosper by any means contrary to God's Word is a fatal attraction to stress. Regardless of what others do, stress survivors believe in de-stressing by the Book-The Good Book-God's Word.

Let's de-stress and prosper as we disclose a powerful de-stress principle from God's Word in Psalm 1:1-3.

Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water,
that brings forth its fruit in its season,
whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.
